Crystal Healing – Top Tips for Colds

My Top Tips for taking care of colds and flu.

It’s easy to stay fit and healthy when your energy levels are up, but things like burning the candle at both ends, a heavier than usual workload, or not paying proper attention to your physical requirements can quickly and easily compromise your energy system which in turn affects your immune system, allowing the opportunity for unwanted illness and disorder to slip in, especially in the so called cold and flu season, so here are some tips for dealing with the problem.

Colds and flu are physical ailments that can be traced back to bacterial and viral causes, but when you trace this back further, it shows up first at an energetic level. Crystals can re-balance and align this energy imbalance or disruption and also facilitate repair on a physical level.

Crystals for warding off colds and flu, with tips for their use:

Coughs – Amber, Ametrine, Aquamarine, Blue Agate, Topaz.
Colds – Ametrine, Carnelian, Jet, Moss Agate, Emerald, Fluorite, Labradorite, Larimar.
Flu/Influenza – Fluorite, Labradorite, Moss Agate.

While any of the above will be of assistance, choose one or two stones that you favour the most and wear or carry them until your affliction has ceased. It does no harm if you have one of each.

Lay down with this healing lay-out for half an hour or so daily until you are well. Hematite on your Base Chakra; Carnelian on your Sacral Chakra; Amber or Fluorite on your Solar Plexus; Emerald on your Heart; Moss Agate or Blue Agate on your Throat Chakra; Ametrine on your Third Eye; Topaz or Clear Quartz at your Crown Chakra. Have a Clear Quartz point facing toward each foot (have these comfortably spread apart), facing each hand with your arms outstretched, and one at your head. Clear Quartz tumble stones may be used instead of points.

Make an elixir with your chosen stones along with a Clear Quartz to give them a boost, and then sip as you feel the need.

Gargling with this elixir a few times a day is good to soothe the throat, or better still mix it with warm salt water to relieve a sore dry throat.

Have a hot bath with a few of the above crystals along with some Hematite, Rose Quartz and Green Aventurine to soothe your aching body. You may also find it calming to place a Topaz on either side of your head and on your temple, adding to the healing as you soak.

Consider using your crystals on acupressure and trigger points, and for soothing the body with a crystal massage. Blue Agate rubbed on your temples is very soothing and symptom relieving.

An elixir made with Aqua Aura Quartz makes a powerful essence providing a strong stimulus to the thymus gland and therefore a boost to the immune system.

Hold your crystals and focus on a healing affirmation such as: “My body is a sacred space. I choose peace and well being.”

Hydrotherapy combined with Crystal Essence is an old fashioned favourite of mine: Steam Inhalation is a great way to open sinuses and calm inflammation. Add a few drops of lavender, eucalyptus or tea tree oil essential oils to a bowl of very hot water. Add 8-10 drops of your Crystal Elixir/essence. Make a tent over your head with a towel and inhale the steam for 10-15 minutes. Stones may be substituted for the elixir and placed directly in the water.

Make sure you cleanse your crystals after each and every use!

Top Off your efforts with these tips:

Drink plenty of fluids like water, fruit juices and clear soups. Fluids help loosen mucus and are also important if you have a fever as this can dry up your body’s fluids, which can lead to dehydration.

Stay home and fully rest if you can, or at least rest as much as possible, especially if you have a fever.

Keep warm.

Use saline (salt water) nose drops to help loosen mucus and moisten the tender skin in your nose.

Consider supplements such as Vitamin C, Echinacea, Goldenseal, Garlic and Liquorice root all help in fighting viruses and strengthening immunity.

Chicken soup is a great old fashioned remedy that has been shown to have exceptional healing properties.

Drink some lemon, ginger and honey tea.

Use a Salt Pipe for respiratory relief.

Place a Moss Agate in Vapour-rub and rub on your chest and throat, particularly at bed time.
