What is a Crystal Chakra Balance?

by Ron & Sue Windred on October 22, 2013

When I was young, and I’m in my sixties now, hardly anyone I knew had a regular massage or even expressed the desire for one, and chiropractors were treated with suspicion. Actually, I had one rich relative who had regular massages and from his perspective they were an accepted part of grooming, no different really than having a manicure, or a visit to the barber (hairdresser).

Chiropractors were referred to as bone crackers and those who attended them as being a ‘bit cracked’. Therapeutic massage had unfortunately been lumped in with so called ‘relaxation centres’ giving it an unearned air of disrepute.

Luckily for me, when I was in my early twenties, a friend kept urging me to see his osteopath/chiropractor for my nagging lower back pain. As hard as I find it to believe today, it took him a full year of persistence for me to finally make an appointment. I must declare though, a part of my reticence related to one previous visit to a not so competent practitioner. Today, I couldn’t imagine being without these services.

Fortunately things have changed these days and among our friends and colleagues almost everyone has had a massage or two at least and most avail themselves of chiropractic services. The majority actually have regular visits and see these as a normal part of their healthcare practice.

These days massage and chiropractic are considered as a normal part of our healthcare regime and if we could Sue and I would gladly have a paid massage as a daily habit and more chiropractic visits.

Naturally, regular Energy and Chakra Balances are also integral to our personal system. In fact we see them as being just as important. You could even say that a ‘Crystal Energy and Chakra Balance’ is just like a massage or chiropractic adjustment for your energy body.

If you know all about your physical body; skeleton, organs, nervous, digestive, elimination systems and also your energy body; your meridians, nadis, chakras, aura and energy points, then you should know and appreciate how important it is to keep them in good order. In fact you will know that any and all disorders and dis-ease show up first in your energetic body. Any imbalance or disarray in these systems leads into dis-ease in your physical body. For you, regular energy treatments should be a part of your normal routine.

If you don’t know all about and understand your subtle or energy body, don’t worry, you don’t need to in order to get the benefits from having a crystal energy and/or chakra balance. If you are aware of its existence and can appreciate that keeping it in top order is holistically beneficial to you and your health, this is sufficient.

I don’t know and can’t explain all about electricity. To me I know it’s a real and potent force, I can’t see it, it is hidden away, but I know that when I turn on the light switch, I can see a real demonstration of its energy.

Most people don’t know much about their body and how it works, but these days’ most sensible people have learned to look after it. It should be the same for your energy body!

One of the simplest, easiest and most efficient ways to look after your-self these days is to have a chakra balance. You can easily do it yourself at home or in the office, or you can seek out a professional crystal healer, where generally you get much more than just your basic chakra balance for your time and money.

Even to do it yourself you don’t need to know all the ins and outs of chakras and how they operate. As long as you know their location, their generally accepted colour, and you can match up a crystal, you’re in business.

The recognised name, associated colour and a recommended crystal are listed for each of the seven main chakras. You may use any other crystal you are drawn to, however it is best to keep them within the same colour selection. That is you may use any red crystal for the base chakra for example and so on for the others.

Chakra Name                     Location                                          Colour                Recommended Crystal

1st or Base                        On the pubic bone                                 Red                         Hematite or Red Jasper
2nd or Sacral                  Just below the belly button               Orange                  Carnelian
3rd or Solar Plexus      Just below the rib cage centre          Yellow                  Tiger Eye
4th or Heart                  Centre chest, above heart                    Pink or Green    Rose Quartz
5th or Throat                In hollow of throat                                  Blue                       Blue Lace Agate
6th or Brow                  Approx 1cm above & between eyes  Purple                  Amethyst

7th or Crown                Top of head                                                Violet/Clear       Selenite

Method: Find a quiet location where you won’t be disturbed for 30 minutes or so. You may choose to soften the lighting, put on some soft music, burn favourite incense or listen to a guided meditation. Lay down on your back, in a comfortable position, on a massage table, or on a bed, or on the floor. Place your selected crystals in an easy to reach location. Now, one at a time, starting from your base, place them upon each chakra location. For the crown chakra, place it against the top of your head. Relax and enjoy and let the crystals return the balance and harmony to your chakras. When you are ready take them off in reverse order.

Again, you don’t necessarily need to know how this happens and your balance restored, just as you don’t need to know how the electricity turns on the light – you just need to know how to turn on the switch.
