Crystal Tips for Christmas

by Ron & Sue Windred on December 16, 2014

Christmas is a time of celebration, sharing and experiencing joy as we get together with our family and friends to exchange gifts and extend our best wishes and goodwill to all. Hopefully it is a time of the year where we can set aside our petty squabbles, at least for a little while and come together in peace and harmony. Well, that’s the ideal anyway and it is our sincere wish that this is your experience and you have a most enjoyable Christmas.

Christmas in Australia is at the hottest time of the year, close to the middle of summer. While we are having a great time celebrating it can be so easy to overindulge, or get caught up and forget about or even overlook some of the basics for our wellbeing.

At times we could all use some help in making the most of the season and keeping ourselves at our best, so here are some situations you may have to deal with and some crystals that you may find useful. . .

Sunburn – Angelite, Larimar

Sunstroke – Jade, Chrysoprase

Heat exhaustion/Heat stroke – Blue Lace Agate, Hematite

Fluid retention – Aquamarine, Moonstone

Fluid (in)balance – Jade, Moonstone

Dehydration – Moss Agate, Muscovite

Maintain your wellbeing – Dioptase, Green Aventurine

Holding your tongue – Chiastolite, Lepidolite

Over indulgence/eating – Amethyst, Hematite

Digestion – Iron Pyrite, Chrysocolla

Keeping your energy up – Red Jasper, Clear Quartz

Goodwill – Chalcedony

Sobriety – Amethyst, Iolite

Weather (heat) sensitivity – Moss Agate, Blue Chalcedony

Forgiveness – Chrysoprase, Apache Tear

Sharing the love – Rose Quartz, Rhodochrosite

Swollen feet and legs – Jet

Ameliorate aggression – Bloodstone, Carnelian

Control anger – Blue Lace Agate, Muscovite

Anxiety – Kunzite, Emerald

Staying calm – any pink or green stones

Cooling crystals – blue or pink stones

The crystals may be held or carried in your pockets, worn as jewellery, or made into an elixir* and sipped throughout the day, or the whole lot if you want. In some cases, you could place your crystals into a cream or oil base and then apply this to your skin. Fortunately, you cannot overdose on these, so you can sip away for several days if you need to, cover yourself with treated creams and oils and of course you can carry them for prolonged periods as well. Don’t forget to cleanse and recharge your crystals though. If you have a few situations to deal with at once, then one of the good things about crystals is that they will work cooperatively together, but don’t try to do too much at the same time as you might find it a bit overwhelming.

Many other crystals are also available to lend a hand and may do the job just as well as those mentioned above, so don’t restrict yourself to the list above if you know of others. Also listen to your instinct as it will undoubtedly lead you to your best choice.

*Some crystals may be toxic under certain circumstances when ingested, if in doubt seek an alternative or use the indirect method for your elixir. The same applies to some crystals when infused into a cream or oil.
