Crystals For Childbirth – Assisting a Smooth Easy Labour

Moonstone is considered the first choice among the crystals for childbirth.

The all-time classic crystal for assisting with childbirth would have to be Moonstone. If you could only choose one crystal from among the crystals for childbirth, Moonstone would have to be it. Moonstone is the Divine Feminine stone; it works with the moon and cycles, covers shifting energies from fertility to preparing the womb for conception, then to providing smooth process and easiness in pregnancy and childbirth and with breastfeeding. Moonstone also helps with fluid retention, which by the end of pregnancy can become an issue with some. It also helps deal with the feelings of vulnerability that can arise, as well as balancing your hormones and emotions.

Other Crystals for Childbirth.

There are several other crystals that can be helpful to you at this time.

Rose Quartz is the stone of unconditional love; its soothing energy provides emotional balance, security and peace. It allows you to truly embrace unreserved love and the magic of childbirth, allowing you to connect deeply with yourself, your baby and the whole universe.

Azurite clears stress and worry, and encourages the development of the embryo in the womb.

Unakite is a good crystal for healthy pregnancies and to facilitate health of the unborn child.

In late pregnancy some people find insomnia all too much. Crystals like Amethyst, Moonstone, Nephrite Jade and Howlite are quite beneficial at this time and after the birth.

Malachite eases the birthing process and is also a very protective stone that can provide security during pregnancy and childbirth.

Moss Agate is good for childbirth as it helps with a good delivery and eases the process.

Jade is also good for childbirth as it’s a very nurturing stone.

Peridot is an excellent facilitator of the birthing process.

Bloodstone and Carnelian are also good for childbirth and they will keep you well and grounded also.

Larimar helps to retune your innate femininity and restore your connection to nature. It is a superb stone for mothers during and after pregnancy. It can alleviate post-partum depression and relax the stress associated with new parenthood.

Agate encourages regeneration and growth. It heals and protects the uterus, guards from prolapse of the uterus and encourages normal shrinkage of the uterus after childbirth.

Dealing with the pain of delivery.

Dealing with the pain of delivery can be a problem and relief and support can be provided by Amber, Emerald, Hematite, Lapis Lazuli, Moonstone and Moss Agate.

The most important crystal to help you in the process is the one you are most attracted to or perhaps your favourite stone, and if it is one of the above, then so much the better.

Just keep the selected stone or stones with you, maybe in a pouch that you can keep close-by. It would be good if you could hold onto these during the delivery.

A Birth Grid using Crystals for Childbirth.

It would also be good if you are able to create a small layout or grid using the above set under your bed during pregnancy and later put under the delivery bed or table if you’re able to. Simply place the stones in a circle with either a Moonstone or a Rose Quartz in the middle, or place them according to your intuition. A circle was chosen because it represents the unbroken, loving energy, or the circle of life. What better way to bring a new soul into this life.

What I would suggest is to set the grid under the bed or mattress so the crystals are out of harm’s way. This is also the best place to keep a constant energy flow throughout the labour itself and so as not to not disturb the layout.
